US President Donald Trump stated that the strike group led by the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz was not sent to the Caribbean to intimidate the Cuban leadership.

Oxu.Az reports citing RIA Novosti.

According to the White House chief, Washington intends to provide humanitarian assistance to Havana. Trump added that the United States wants to open Cuba for Cuban immigrants currently living in the US.

It is noteworthy that on May 21, the US Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) announced that the carrier strike group had entered the Caribbean Sea.
