US President Donald Trump recently scolded Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth over the phone for stopping the deployment of troops to Poland.
According to Oxu.Az citing The Wall Street Journal, Trump asked Hegseth why the deployment was canceled. He then explained that the US should not treat Poland poorly, as it is a US ally with close ties to the White House.
Hegseth's decision drew sharp criticism from Republican and Democratic lawmakers, as well as Polish officials, who said they were not consulted.
The move surprised some officials, as it was Germany, not Poland, that criticized US strategy in the war with Iran.
