US President Donald Trump thanked Russian President Vladimir Putin for his help in resolving the conflict with Iran.

Oxu.Az reports that this was reported by The New York Times.

According to the publication, speaking on the occasion of his 80th birthday, Trump praised Putin along with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

"He highly appreciated Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin for their contribution to resolving the conflict or at least for not interfering in the blockade of the strait," the publication noted.

Trump also called Xi Jinping a "true gentleman," stating that he did not send a fleet of 20 destroyers to break the blockade. In addition, Trump described Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a very complex person. He emphasized that Netanyahu should be grateful to the US, because if Iran obtains nuclear weapons, Israel would not last even two hours.
