Trump made the announcement on his Truth Social platform. He congratulated Poland's newly elected President Karol Nawrocki and emphasized the strengthening of bilateral ties.

"I am pleased to announce that the United States will send an additional 5,000 troops to Poland, in light of the successful election of President Karol Nawrocki, whom I am proud to support, and our relations," Trump stated.
