President Donald Trump made a sensational statement: The United States and Iran have reached an agreement to end the war. Only the signing of documents remains.
According to Oxu.Az citing TASS, Trump told reporters at the White House: "We have just made very good agreements with Iran to stop the war. We will finalize the paperwork. This should be done within a few days."
The US leader noted that the agreement could be signed this weekend. Trump emphasized: "As soon as we sign the agreement, the Strait of Hormuz will officially open. This can happen very soon, perhaps on the weekend, in Europe. I will not be there, but Vice President JD Vance will attend."
Reports indicate that Iranian representatives submitted the final version of the peace deal to the US through Qatari mediators this week. CNN reported, citing sources, that Qatar helped resolve several contentious points, including the format of future nuclear talks and the easing of sanctions against Iran.
