US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping have agreed that Iran must never obtain nuclear weapons.
According to CNN, the White House issued a statement.
The document states both countries are committed to ensuring Iran never acquires nuclear weapons in the future.
The leaders also confirmed the importance of keeping the Strait of Hormuz open for free energy transit.
Trump's meeting in Beijing was described as productive, with decisions to further develop economic ties.
Xi expressed interest in increasing Chinese imports of US oil to reduce dependence on the strait.
He also opposed any militarization or tolls at the Strait of Hormuz.
