A drone attack caused a fire near the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The Abu Dhabi government's media office reported on X that a fire broke out at an electrical generator located outside the plant's inner perimeter and was quickly extinguished.

No injuries were reported, and radiation levels remain normal. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission confirmed that the fire did not affect the plant's safety or operations.

The origin of the attacking drone was not disclosed. The Ministry of Interior stated that no air threat was declared on May 17.
