Former Deputy Home Secretary Dan Jarvis has been appointed as the UK's new Defence Secretary.

According to a statement from Prime Minister Keir Starmer's office, reported by Oxu.Az citing TASS, the appointment was made official.

Jarvis replaces John Healey, who resigned in protest over insufficient investment in the UK's defence.
