Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Defense Forces struck two Russian oil tankers in the waters near the port of Novorossiysk. He shared the information on his Telegram channel.
According to him, the vessels were actively used for oil transportation. 'Our warriors continue to enforce sanctions against Russia's shadow oil fleet - two ships of this type were hit in the entrance waters of Novorossiysk port,' the president said.
Zelensky added that Ukraine's long-range capabilities will be comprehensively developed at sea, in the air, and on land.
This attack is part of Ukraine's ongoing campaign against Russia's energy infrastructure. Earlier, Ukrainian forces targeted Russian oil depots and refineries.
Experts believe such operations aim to disrupt Russia's oil exports. Ukraine is increasing naval attacks to gain tactical advantage in the war.
