Ukraine to buy 16 Gripen fighters from Sweden

Sweden will transfer 16 Gripen fighters to Ukraine. The delivery will start in 2027, with Zelensky and Kristersson signing a declaration.

Ukraine to buy 16 Gripen fighters from Sweden

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced during a joint press conference that Stockholm will transfer the first 16 JAS 39 Gripen C/D fighters to Kyiv.

According to Oxu.Az citing TSN, the delivery of the fighters will take place in 2027.

Zelensky and Kristersson signed a declaration on deepening cooperation between the two countries. Under the document, Ukraine will purchase an additional 22 Gripen fighters, to be delivered by 2030.

The Ukrainian president stated that Ukraine expects to receive the Gripen fighters within the next 10 months.
