The UN Security Council has unanimously adopted a resolution on accountability for crimes committed against peacekeeping forces.

According to Oxu.Az, citing TASS, the UN reported that since 1948, 1,095 peacekeepers have been killed in deliberate attacks. Of these, 359 have died since 2013. Thousands more 'blue helmets' have been injured.

The resolution, authored by Denmark and Pakistan, condemns attacks on UN peacekeepers, emphasizes that they may constitute war crimes, and calls on host states to investigate and prosecute perpetrators.
