The administration of US President Donald Trump aims to significantly increase the volume of operational intelligence sharing with Israel.
According to Oxu.Az, citing The Independent, the United States has introduced a new bill that greatly expands defense and intelligence cooperation with Israel, overshadowing the English-speaking "Five Eyes" spy network.
One of the bill's provisions calls for further development of existing close ties between the special services of both countries. This will give Israel access to the most classified documents protected within the US intelligence community.
Considering that the US is a member of the "Five Eyes" intelligence alliance, which also includes Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the UK, Israel will be able to obtain information from the special services of those countries as well.
The publication emphasizes that the most important intelligence reports from the US and its allies will thus be open for use by Israeli special services for their purposes.
Meanwhile, in an interview with Channel N12, Trump warned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that the US could refuse aid in the event of new attacks from Iran. According to Trump, five regional countries involved in mediation efforts between the US and Iran asked him to pressure Netanyahu to stop Israeli strikes on Iran and achieve progress toward a peace agreement.
