The United States has temporarily suspended a $14 billion arms sale to Taiwan, citing potential needs for possible military operations against Iran.
Acting Navy Secretary Hung Kao disclosed this during a Senate Appropriations Committee hearing, responding to questions about the delay.
Kao stated that the suspension ensures sufficient arms for "Operation Epic Rage," adding that while stockpiles are adequate, the goal is to confirm all necessary equipment is available.
The administration will resume foreign arms deliveries when deemed appropriate, he added.
