US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that Washington prefers a diplomatic resolution with Cuba, but currently such an outcome is unlikely.

This was reported by Izvestia.

Rubio noted that the Trump administration remains open to negotiations, but Cuba's stance must change.

"We will continue necessary measures," Rubio added.
