The US Senate rejected a resolution calling on the president to halt military operations against Iran, just a day after the House passed a similar measure.
The vote was 47-50, with one abstention. The outcome came after President Donald Trump criticized Republican senators who had previously supported the House resolution, leading to a shift in stance.
Trump celebrated on Truth Social: "This vote sends a warning to Iran!" He thanked senators including Paul and Cassidy for their support.
This marks the 11th time the Senate has weighed in on war powers regarding Iran this year.
