The US military targeted the tanker "Jalveer", suspected of carrying Iranian oil, off the coast of Oman. CENTCOM reported the tanker attempted to breach the blockade.
The vessel, sailing under a Guinean flag, was hit by two Hellfire missiles after its crew repeatedly refused to comply with US demands.
This is the third commercial ship disabled by US forces this week. Previously, the "Marivex" and "Settebello" were targeted.
Since the blockade began on April 13, CENTCOM has neutralized 9 ships, diverted 135, and allowed 42 humanitarian vessels to pass.
