The US Central Command (CENTCOM) struck a commercial vessel attempting to breach the blockade imposed on Iranian ports.

According to Oxu.Az, citing the Associated Press, the strike was carried out by a US aircraft, rendering the ship inoperable and adrift.

"The cargo ship 'Lian Star' flying the Gambian flag ignored multiple warnings from US forces and attempted to enter an Iranian port. The ship was disabled by US aircraft in the Gulf of Oman," the source said.

US forces have not yet boarded the vessel.

This is the sixth ship that US forces have stopped using force since the blockade began.

CENTCOM reports that during the naval blockade, US Navy has turned back 115 commercial vessels linked to Iran.
