The United States has reaffirmed its commitment to defend Japan using all capabilities, including nuclear weapons.

This was stated in a joint declaration following the expanded Japan-US dialogue held in Tokyo.

According to Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the US confirmed its commitment to Japan's defense, utilizing all defense capabilities, including nuclear weapons.

Japan, in turn, expressed support for US troops and their peacekeeping operations. The parties discussed the modernization and adaptation of US nuclear forces amid rising regional nuclear threats, as well as Japan's defense policy.

Tokyo called on Washington to intensify international dialogue to prevent a nuclear arms race, including negotiations with China and Russia on arms control. The parties also criticized North Korea's nuclear program and reaffirmed support for the complete denuclearization of the DPRK.
