The US will use Iran's frozen assets to compensate Gulf states for damages inflicted by Tehran during conflicts.
According to Oxu.Az, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced this on his X social media account.
He stated that if Iran pays fees to the Persian Gulf States Affairs Authority (PGSA) for passage through the Strait of Hormuz, the costs incurred by affected countries will be covered by frozen Iranian funds.
Bessent added that any new attack by Tehran will worsen economic and financial consequences for Iran.
