US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated in an interview with Fox News that China is currently the only country buying oil from Iran.
"It is quite interesting that only China is purchasing this oil. Moreover, they were doing this even when sanctions on Iranian oil were in place," the secretary noted.
According to Bessent, Iran sells oil to China at discounted prices. Other countries refrain from buying Iranian oil due to fear of US sanctions.
"That is why Iranians are currently negotiating with the US," he added.
