US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth says Washington's European allies are facing an attack by dangerous ideologies.

Speaking at the 82nd anniversary of the Normandy landings in northern France, he stated: "Unfortunately, today Europe's other shores are under pressure from different dangerous ideologies. People are arriving by boats to Spain, Italy, Greece, and Bulgaria."

Hegseth referred to the influx of illegal migration targeting European countries. "When will European capitals take action against this attack? Or is it too late? I don't think so," he noted.

The Pentagon chief added: "We support our allies and expect our allies to be capable and ready to support us as well."
