The US Pentagon does not rule out withdrawing troops from some military bases in the Middle East damaged during recent conflicts.

According to Oxu.Az citing TASS, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth made the remarks during a press briefing at the US Embassy in Singapore.

“The decision will be made by President Trump and will depend on his future strategy. We highly value our partnerships in the region, and decisions will be outcome-based,” Hegseth said.

Hegseth added that currently US forces maintain their positions and are ready to re-engage operations if necessary.

He also expressed confidence that Iran would abandon its nuclear ambitions through negotiations with the US, emphasizing that a future agreement would serve US interests.
