The UVB-76 radio station, also known as the "Doomsday" station, has aired a new message.
According to the "UVB-76 Log" Telegram channel, the station went on air on May 14 at 12:28 Baku time.
The message consisted of letters and numbers, and included the word "superstar" for the first time: "NJTİ 68221 SUPERULDUZ 7006 3676".
UVB-76 is known for its constant monotonous buzzing sound, occasionally interrupted by incomprehensible phrases. It is believed to belong to the Russian Armed Forces.
One theory links the station to the Soviet-era "Perimeter" system (known as "Dead Hand" in the US), designed to automatically launch a nuclear retaliation.
Other theories suggest the signals are used for astronomical observations or contact with extraterrestrial civilizations. However, none are confirmed.
The station's exact location is unknown. It was initially thought to be near Povarovo village, later moved to Kerro village, and now possibly operates from Naro-Fominsk.
