The number of fatalities from two powerful earthquakes in Venezuela has risen to 1,450.

According to Oxu.Az, this information was reported by The Associated Press.

Tens of thousands of people are currently missing.

Interim President Delcy Rodriguez stated that search efforts for survivors will continue.

The government reported that over 2,600 rescuers from various countries, equipped with specially trained search dogs and heavy machinery, have arrived in the country.

The strong earthquakes occurred on the evening of June 24. Two tremors of magnitudes 7.2 and 7.5 were recorded approximately 40 seconds apart. Their epicenters were located in Yaracuy state, 10 kilometers apart. After the main shocks, 214 aftershocks were observed.
