The 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku has registered over 40,000 participants from 182 countries.

Murat Karatas, a correspondent for Haber Global, reported during a live broadcast that WUF13 is being held in Azerbaijan for the first time in the Caucasus. He noted that the number of participants is the highest ever recorded in the forum's history.

Karatas reminded that the previous WUF in Cairo, Egypt in 2024 had only 24,000 participants. Key themes of the forum include global crises, safe cities, climate resilience, sustainable urban planning, smart cities, and post-disaster reconstruction.

He also highlighted that after 30 years of Armenian occupation, construction has begun in Karabakh, where smart city and smart village projects are being implemented. Settlement plans based on green energy will be discussed with the international community.
