The 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) to be held in Azerbaijan is in the spotlight of foreign media, especially the Uzbek press.
According to Oxu.Az, the Uzbek State Information Agency Uza.uz and the renowned Zamon.uz news portal have prepared extensive materials about the forum.
The articles highlight Azerbaijan's growing role in global urbanization processes, noting that Baku has become an important platform not only for the region but also for discussing international urban planning and sustainable development agendas.
The articles extensively cover the views of Farid Shahbazli, chairman of the "Reformist Youth" Public Union. He stated that WUF13 is a crucial global platform presenting Azerbaijan's modern urban planning vision and development model to the international community.
Shahbazli noted that the forum particularly focuses on restoration and reconstruction projects in Karabakh and East Zangazur. The "Smart City" and "Smart Village" concepts, green energy solutions, digital management systems, and modern transport infrastructure implemented there constitute the main directions of Azerbaijan's new urban model.
According to him, this model is not limited to infrastructure construction but is also based on social inclusivity, preservation of national architectural heritage, and ensuring ecological balance.
Shahbazli emphasized that the forum in Baku is another example of Azerbaijan's international prestige and experience, bringing the country's "human-centered city" model to the global agenda and shaping a new vision for future cities.
Overall, materials published in Uzbek media emphasize that cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan in urban planning, architecture, and regional development has strengthened in recent years. Azerbaijan's experience in post-conflict territory restoration is particularly followed with interest by the Uzbek public.
It was noted that WUF13 is not only a global discussion platform but also important for forming a new urban cooperation model among Turkic world countries.
