The "Galleon" restaurant ship, owned by former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, has sunk in the Kyiv region.
The UNIAN news agency shared a video of the incident on Telegram. The ship is almost half submerged, with water reaching the level of the lower doors and windows.
The cause of the sinking is unknown. The floating residence was state-owned until 2007, then transferred to Yanukovych.
In 2018, a Kyiv court handed over the area to the Asset Recovery Agency. In 2023, the floating restaurant was declared a national park and landscape monument, and opened to tourists a year later.
The 50-meter-long ship, designed like an ancient sailing vessel, attracted visitors with its luxurious interior, including a concert hall, VIP lounge, and Yanukovych's office decorated with marble, crystal, gold, and precious wood.
