Last year, YouTube's average viewing time per account increased from 87.2 to 99.1 minutes per day. Meanwhile, Netflix's average dropped from 100.5 to 93.4 minutes per day.
This data was published by UK analytics firm "Digital i", which tracks viewing times across 20 countries including the US, UK, Germany, Spain, Mexico, Brazil, and South Korea.
Analysts note that YouTube is watched most in South Korea, averaging 161.5 minutes per day. In terms of age groups, Generation Z (born 1997-2012) leads with 111 minutes daily.
The study also highlights that YouTube is increasingly watched on TVs: the share of such views rose from 28% to 35%, while mobile views dropped from 35% to 31%.
