Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has sent an open letter to Russian leader Vladimir Putin, stating Kyiv's readiness to end the war through direct negotiations.

Zelensky emphasized that the war no longer satisfies Russian society and is increasingly negatively affecting the country. He noted that Putin has spent almost half of his 26-year rule at war with Ukraine.

“This war is your personal choice, a war without a real reason,” Zelensky stated.

He called for direct bilateral solutions: “Do not be afraid to exit the war. This is the main step required of you now.”

Zelensky also warned: “If the war does not end, they will have to fight for their political and personal existence.”

The Ukrainian leader stressed that the current front line is where the diplomatic process should begin. Potential meeting platforms include Switzerland, Turkey, or certain Arab states.
