The first Sand Art Academy has started operating in Kyrgyzstan.
Oxu.Az reports citing "Kabar" agency that the information was provided by the head of the institution, Zarema Abylgazieva.
According to her, sand art, considered one of the oldest forms of art, will now be officially developed, and this initiative will be significant for the cultural life of the region.
After the Academy launches, it plans to hold the first World Congress of sand artists and masters. The event is expected to include renowned representatives from various countries. One of the main events of the congress will be the election of the president of the World Association of Sand Artists.
Additionally, the Academy has established the Zobel Award, named after the famous German artist Benjamin Zobel. This award is considered the first international award in the field of sand art.
The award will be presented during the "Sand Art Week" festival. It is reported that 30 masters from different countries have applied for the festival. Based on the jury's decision, six of them will be awarded the title of champion in their respective directions.
