Magnesium, essential for heart health and good sleep, is most abundant in raw seeds, especially pumpkin and sunflower seeds.
According to Oxu.Az, Russian nutritionist Olga Yablokova stated this to aif.ru.
The expert noted that these seeds are rich not only in magnesium but also in zinc, vitamin E, and healthy fats.
She said that when seeds are roasted, about 30% of magnesium is lost, fats oxidize, and benefits decrease. Vitamins and antioxidants also break down, and high temperatures can produce harmful substances like acrylamide.
The expert emphasized that raw seeds lack these negative properties and are considered more beneficial. It is recommended to consume 20-30 grams daily, added to meals or lightly dried without oil.
It was also noted that seeds may not be suitable for people with gastrointestinal and gallbladder diseases, as they can cause exacerbation.
