A store manager named Farid Mammadov has been arrested in Baku on embezzlement charges.
He worked as a salesperson and later as a manager at a clothing store. Investigations revealed that Mammadov transferred part of the sales proceeds to his own bank card.
He is alleged to have embezzled over 500,000 manats ($294,000). He was arrested after the store owner filed a complaint.
He has been charged under Article 179.4 of the Criminal Code. If found guilty, he faces up to 14 years in prison.
