Cybercriminals sentenced to 3 years in prison

Baku Court sentences cybercriminals Igor Zabolotsky and Ilnur Valitov to 3 years in prison for money laundering.

Igor Zabolotsky and Ilnur Valitov, accused of cybercrime, have been sentenced. The trial took place at the Baku Court of Grave Crimes.

Prosecutors had asked for four years, but the court handed down a three-year prison term for each defendant.

They were charged under Article 193-1.3.2 of the Criminal Code (legalization of criminally obtained property). The pair allegedly obtained 98,000 manats through cybercrime and laundered the proceeds.
