Elchin Ismayilov, convicted of murdering his friend Ilkin Mammadov in Dashkasan, has been sentenced.
According to APA, the verdict was read by judge Bahruz Movsumov in Ganja Heavy Crimes Court.
Elchin Ismayilov was sentenced to 9 years and 6 months in prison. He will serve his sentence in a strict-regime correctional facility.
The incident occurred last July in Dashkasan district. A quarrel broke out between the friends, and Elchin stabbed Ilkin multiple times. Ilkin died in the hospital.
The accused was charged under Articles 120.1 (intentional murder) and 228.5 (illegal possession of weapons) of the Criminal Code.
