The Main Drug Enforcement Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs conducted a new operation in the Astara region.
During the operation, individuals attempting to smuggle large quantities of drugs into the country were identified.
Previously convicted Tural Bakirov, 38, and Mehman Abdurahmanov, 53, were detained.
Seized from them were 45 kilograms of marijuana and 650 methadone pills.
A criminal case has been initiated, and investigations are ongoing.
