The detention of former Balakan executive Islam Rzayev has been extended until August.
A motion by the State Security Service was granted by the Sabail District Court.
The investigator argued that continued detention was necessary as the serious criminal investigation proceeds.
Lawyer Elvin Aliyev confirmed the decision.
Rzayev was arrested in October during an SSS operation. He is charged with large-scale embezzlement and repeated bribery.
