A cassation appeal has been filed against the verdict of Elxan Valiev, Ali Xangaldiyev, and Vagif Huseynov, who were convicted of kidnapping.

Oxu.Az reports that the appeal will be heard by judge Ilqar Jafarov of the Supreme Court.

The Baku Heavy Crimes Court sentenced Valiev and Xangaldiyev to 8 years 6 months, and Huseynov to 9 years in prison.

They were found guilty under articles 144.2.5 (kidnapping) and 133 (torture) of the Criminal Code. They are accused of kidnapping one man and one woman.
