The criminal investigation into Vali Babayev (name changed), accused of intentional light bodily harm, has concluded at the Nizami District Court. Judge Aynur Aliyeva announced the verdict.
The court sentenced him to 6 months in prison. According to the indictment, Vali injured his girlfriend Farida Abbasova during an argument.
The incident occurred in the Nizami district of the capital. The argument started when Farida used rude language. Vali then deliberately struck her head and face with his hand, causing a hematoma on her left temple, classified as minor bodily harm.
During the trial, Vali pleaded guilty. He stated that he met Farida two years ago and they lived in an unofficial relationship.
On the day of the incident, he called Farida at 1:45 PM and arrived home 15 minutes later. After entering, he said he would take a shower and change clothes. Farida replied she would go to a neighbor and lock the door. Vali objected, saying he would leave. The dispute escalated, leading to the assault.
Vali admitted he lost control due to Farida's rude words and struck her. He expressed remorse in court and requested a lenient sentence, citing his health and young children.
