Perinatal Center Fire: Lawyers Seek Acquittal

The next court session was held in Baku for the fire at the Republican Perinatal Center that killed 7 infants.

Lawyer Elovsat Abbasov, representing former director Mehriban Abasguliyeva, filed a motion to renew the judicial investigation. The prosecutor opposed, citing the investigation's completion.

Other defense lawyers argued for acquittal, claiming lack of evidence. The judges rejected the motion.

The next hearing is scheduled for June 3.
