The first hearing of the criminal case against Saleh Samadov, the arrested former chairman of the Imishli District Elders Council, was held at the State Security Service (DTX).
At the Baku Heavy Crimes Court, the state prosecutor read the indictment, which states that Samadov embezzled 200,000 manat.
Samadov partially admitted guilt. The next hearing is scheduled for June 10.
Samadov is charged under Articles 179.3.2 (large-scale embezzlement) and 308.1 (abuse of power). He had previously sparked a scandal during a Victory Day event on May 9 by appearing under a USSR flag with a St. George ribbon.
