Officers of the Absheron District Police Department prevented the illegal circulation of 19 kilograms of narcotics and psychotropic substances during an operation.
According to the Press Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a 47-year-old truck driver named Emin Ahmadov was detained. His vehicle was found to contain 8 kg of heroin and over 3 kg of methamphetamine.
Investigations revealed that Ahmadov obtained the drugs from an Iranian citizen and smuggled them into Azerbaijan. Efforts to identify other members of the drug network are ongoing.
Police also detained two other individuals - 44-year-old Ramil Hasanov and 38-year-old Ilham Jumshudoglu. Nearly 8 kg of drugs were seized from them. They stated they acquired the drugs for sale in Baku and Absheron.
Criminal cases have been initiated, and investigations are underway.
