A person wanted internationally by Interpol's Azerbaijan office was extradited from Turkey on May 20. The Ministry of Justice brought him to Azerbaijan.
The suspect is Azerbaijani citizen Sabutar Babayev, accused in 2020 of large-scale drug smuggling and trafficking of psychotropic substances. He was arrested in Turkey.
After the Prosecutor General's Office submitted necessary documents and international procedures, extradition was agreed. This confirms Azerbaijan's reputation and Turkey's reliable partnership.
Sabutar Babayev was taken from Antalya to Azerbaijan and placed in a pre-trial detention center per court order. The Ministry continues necessary measures.
