Cuba has announced its readiness to review a $100 million humanitarian aid proposal from the United States.
Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla stated in a post on X that the Cuban government does not habitually reject foreign aid offered in good faith.
He emphasized Cuba's willingness to listen to the details and mechanisms of the initiative, highlighting the country's long-standing positive cooperation with the Catholic Church.
Rodriguez noted that Washington has yet to specify whether the funds will be in cash or kind, and whether it will address urgent needs like fuel, food, and medicine.
The minister added that the best gesture the US could make is to end the economic and energy blockade. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced the aid on May 13.
