On July 9, 2025, the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) came into force. The Ministry of Economy announced this.
The agreement was finalized during President Ilham Aliyev's working visit to the UAE, signed by Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov and Minister of Foreign Trade Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi.
The goal is to strengthen economic partnership, liberalize trade, and boost diversification and welfare as part of strategic ties.
CEPA consists of 18 chapters. Tariffs on over 90% of goods are eliminated. Customs procedures are simplified, and clear rules of origin are applied.
The deal supports small and medium enterprises, enhances cooperation in digital economy, and increases supply chain resilience.
